About the Festival

You are invited to scenic High Park for a weekend of fun, food and music! The park will be full of activity on June 10 and 11 as we hold the 11th Annual Smoke on the Plains BBQ & Music Festival presented by Rock Regional Hospital. There will be fun for all ages, from live music at the Security 1st Title Mainstage to the Kids Corner sponsored by Smile Safari and Derby Orthodontics/ Trimmell Anders and White. Enjoy refreshing beverages from the Derby Noon Lions Club Beer & Beverage Tent and Shaken or Stirred Bartending all weekend.

The BBQ competitions include the Creekstone Farms KCBS Cook-off, the Scholfield Honda Backyard BBQ Cook-off, and the Creekstone Farms SCA Steak Cook-off. Enter by May 20.

Event Details

Friday night’s activities run from 6 to 10 p.m. and include the country rock sounds of the Silver Bullet Band, People’s Choice tasting contest where you can try competition pulled pork samples, cornhole tournament, Beer & Beverage Garden, Shaken or Stirred Bartending, and food trucks.

On Saturday morning the park will be filled with delicious smells as teams prepare for the KCBS and Backyard BBQ Cook-off and the SCA Steak Cook-off.

From 9 to 11 a.m. join us for Bloody Marys and Mimosas and breakfast food offerings. The Kids Corner activities run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and include inflatables, face painters, princesses and more. Live music during this time includes Harrison Steele, Patz, and Whitnie Means.

 

On Saturday night we welcome back 80s cover band Paramount. We will have a Big Hair Contest, so find your Aqua Net and get ready to tease that hair for a chance to win a prize.

Enjoy food trucks, Beer and Beverage Garden, and
Shaken or Stirred Bartending during a fun evening at the park.
